Star Wars: The Fore Awakens- A Review Its Star Wars, you know who's in it. The Force Awakens was directed by the Sci Fi great  J.J. Abrams and starred Daisy Ridley as Rey, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren and John Boyega as Finn. With a modest budget of 209 million dollars, TFA rocked the box office for months. Was it all that great though? Real quick, this will be a little quicker than Rogue One's review. TFA is almost 2 years old and has been thoroughly reviewed by critics far better than me.  I walked out of my first screening of Force Awakens in 2015 and was thoroughly.. whelmed. My Dad and I usually agree on movies, but this one left us divided. I left saying it was pretty good, and I enjoyed it as a Star Wars movie. My Dad on the other hand... Well lets just say he wasn't a fan. I left the theater saying that the movie got an 8.5/10 for me. I re-watched TFA before seeing The Last Jedi and I have to say that maybe my Dad was more right than I thought. Once the movie st...

STAR WARS ROGUE ONE: A review Star Wars:Rogue One is a spin-off of the wildly successful Star Wars Cinematic Universe, and the second of several planned Disney movies. Rogue One was directed by Gareth Edwards of "Godzilla" 2014 fame and was written by Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy (both of which have several movies to their names). The film stars Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso and has a whole cavalcade of love-able cannon fodder side characters. Of course you've probably already seen Rogue One, I'm more than a year late on riding the review coat-tails, so I'm going to keep this one relatively short. Rogue One will be the first of my Disney Star Wars reviews, so I'll get to The Force Awakens and Last Jedi later. I grew up loving Star Wars when I was younger, and I read A LOT of the Extended Universe books. However, when Disney bought Star Wars I was a little worried. I'll get to my thoughts on TFA later, but I was mostly upset that most of my beloved storie...

Poster credit goes to Vranckx.  Check out his deviant art page, he has some great works. I chose this poster because it is FAR better than the actual posters. ARRIVAL: A review Arrival is a 2016 Sci-fi film directed by the always fantastic Denis Villeneuve and stars Amy Adams as Louise Banks, a talented linguist, and Jeremy Renner as Ian Donnelly, a physicist. The film also stars Forest Whitaker as Colonel Weber. With a modest budget of 47 million, Arrival managed to take in 203 million worldwide. I had gone in to Arrival relatively late and completely blind. Besides seeing the Rotten Tomatoes score, I hadn't watched any trailers or read any reviews. I completely recommend this, although some people argue that seeing the Rotten Tomatoes score may skewer your opinion. It was another movie I had stumbled upon while browsing Amazon Prime and I'm glad I watched it. I grew up watching Science Fiction and its easily one of my favorite genres. I expected a cliche alien in...

BRIGHT- A Review Bright is a 2017 Netflix original action crime thriller starring Will Smith as a Will Smith and Joel Edgerton as his Orc partner Nick Jakoby. The film was directed by David Ayer of Suicide Squad infamy and End of Watch, another cop movie set in LA. Bright was written by Max Landis who also wrote American Ultra, Victor Frankenstein, and the TV show Dirk Gently's. With a budget of 90(!) million dollars, the film has so far been considered a commercial and critical flop. It also recently donned the title of the worst film of 2017 pretty late in the year. As a former police officer myself, I was curious to see how they'd handle the movie. I know several of my cop buddies loved End of Watch so I went in with high hopes. While not completely dashed, I was left with a great big.. Meh. Does it deserve worst film of 2017? Absolutely not. Does it deserve most "Eh" film of 2017? Well its definitely a contender. THE PLOT: Bright focuses on the strained r...

IT COMES AT NIGHT- A Review It Comes At Night is a horror/suspense movie written and directed by Trey Edward Schults and stars Joel Edgerton as Paul and Christopher Abbot as Will. The film also stars Carmen Ejojo as Sarah and Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Travis, Paul's wife and son. With a budget of 2.4 million dollars, it made only 19.3 million dollars back at the box office.   It Comes At Night was a movie I was looking forward to for a long time. Anyone who knows me knows I love a good virus movie. I had avoided all trailers going into the movie, which did pay off in the end. There was a lot of controversy with the movie's marketing after the movie had been released. Firstly they made an awesome, if not misleading poster. Just look at it. It raises questions and answers none, much like the movie. The film was billed by the marketing as a crazy, virus-caused outbreak thriller movie, which it definitely was not. I had heard mixed reactions from real critics after seeing that...
